Yeah, I'm a little concerned about the size as well, I have raised the question as they are veering away from my original design for some reason.

Huh

this is truly a magnificent build and trust me u wont regret the beams Cool

but if i may advise you on your choice of engine spec before you go down that route if its not too late already i would advise based on all research i did when i had this swap, dont use toda/trd cams and dont get rid of vvti take a look at this guys beams http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=21697
get in contact with him he makes and sells all the parts to make the ultimate NA beams hes done alot trial and error and he is making way more the the 270bhp that the trd spec altezza made with 13.5:1 compression and he is only using 12.5:1 compression, he still has vvti and as a result he has a massive power band, car basically makes little over 300 at flywheel i would contact him if i were you as I said he can both advise you and provide parts Thumbs up! he makes itbs cams pistons longer rods etc etc

I have already been in contact with Glenn, I have a set of his ITB's. He posted above (Celica RA45) Wink

Glenns piston & rod combo is much higher CR than you suggested but will run on 98 Octane, I will probably be ordering that setup when I have saved a few pennies and the exchange rate gets better.

I'm not really interested in the vvti, I have a long think about it along the lines of expense to keep it vs benefits of retaining it and as this car will be on track 95% of its life and the RPM will be high I dont think its worth the expense. ECU choice is far wider if I ditch it Big Grin

Glenn mentioned about the Toda cams marking but there is not much more options available on the cam front as Glenns cams are specifically for vvti applications.

Looks like it's coming along nicely Conrad Thumbs up!
So now I begin to see what you were on about with the front end. Looking forward to seeing the rest, especially the 4 wheel AP brakes and Tilton setup.

Have sent you some e-mails just now mate.

That's a dream of a spec, Conrad. I wouldn't do carbon doors though... Car's going to be noisy enough without the wind noise that'll come as the window frames come away at speed with them..! Yummie!

Just been negotiating a deal this week for the best quality AN fittings on the market... Some interesting goodies coming to temp you soon! Big Grin

Next up:

The Tilton pedal set, steering column, 60mm steering wheel boss, KEY!S deep dish steering wheel were all mounted up ready for me to try the seat position. I needed to see if the seat rails could stay on there original mounts with the pedal set and the extra length of the column with the quick release boss and deep dish wheel. As suspected, they will have to be mounted further back. Theres also a sneak peak of the new seats Big Grin

Those brakes sound f...ing awesome!!! Superb metal fabrication work in body cage floor tunnel etc and the fuel cell is a work of art! (dry break filler?) Should be quite the beast when finished Evil
