wow, what a bad night for my hatchi.....
well i was driving the highway not too long ago, and i felt a odd bump in the wheel every time i took a left hand turn. seconds later my whole front
right suspension falls off at 80 mph. this happened back when the car was stock.

it was all held on by the stock brake line. the oem camber plates broke, witch lead to snapping the two bolts that connect the steering knuckle to the shock mount. lol then, well the rest is kinda self explanatory. Undecided

Same thing happen to me when we messed up with the front suspension. My brake line was destroyed so I lost brakes also. Blush

Good thing was I was "testing" the car on a safe spot.

had a similar incident in the Banpei Trueno, pulled off the motorway & started to hear a very loud bang from the front suspension, pulled over & checked everything, all bolts in place. Drove home nice & steady, mounted the 20mm high paving outside the house & the coilover went back under the car. The 2 bottom bolts which were not factory items had both sheared inside the RCA, couldnt be seen from the outside as the bolts were all still in place, had a big job removing the threaded part of the bolt from inside the the coilover, & it had to happen a few hours before the ae86irl track time at Japfest, missed another track session

no RCA's. but its like the wheel was fighting it self when there was less weight on it thats why i thought the camber plate went lol

Whow, thats just messed up. Glad your ok bro and that your hachi seems in fine shape.

Just wondering but why did you post this in offtopic? seems a pretty ontopic thing that more people may want to notice. Sounds like good advise for others to check their stock suspensions. Maybe these bolts only have a 20 year life span. We had similar problems with the rear suspension on DeLoreans where one of the bolts would get metal fatigue.

OK, moved it to general, was wondering between general and technical but since we're not really going into technical details hereSmile
