Silvertop velocity stacks - trumpets?
I have 20v silvertop, the standard trumpets/airbox doesn't fit under the bonnet. Does anyone know where to get some short aftermarket ones, pref in Europe/ uk. I run a standalone, so dont use the AFM.

Cheers for that, just need to check sizes and make sure they will fit under the air filter.

Note that the length of the velocity stacks has an important influence on the engine characteristics.

Also be aware of the proximity of the brake booster. This will limit your available length, and LHD's don't have this restriction.

Thanks Nomuken,
I haven't seen that site before. Does anyone have any experience with using different stack lengths? I was running without any ![]() Thanks Ivan 1972 MG Midget - AE86 Engine, Ford Anglia Axle - Escort LSD - Live the Dream!!1 |

If you are using the pipercross airbox, they say you can use trumpets with a maximum length of 45mm. But you def. should use some trumpets, they will improve the airflow drastically

If your engine characteristics are such that there is more available bottom end than you're currently getting, then generally, a longer trumpet will move the biase this way. Ideally make an adjustable length intake (ie. 2 snug but sliding bits of piping with lengths marked on them) and put it on a dyno.

Chrisso Wrote:Also be aware of the proximity of the brake booster.
