identifying ARP rod and head bolts
Can anyone tell me how to check wether ARP bolts are in a engine or not.

Reason is that both rod and head bolts are Torx style while the mains and all the rest are hex type. Can I assume that the previous owner already invested in ARP bolts?

It's a AE92GTi small port engine in a kitcar.

Are you thinking of reusing them? Confused Best to replace the bolts/studs if rebuilding engine regardless.

haven't undone the head and rod bolts yet, and if they're ARP, I'm not going to touch them, if they're stock I would like to replace them with ARP, but would be stupid to replace them by ARP's if they're already are.

Slowboy2 yes the rod bolts are blind bolts with torx nut on it.

Maybe I asked a retorical question.

Maybe I should ask, does Toyota use torx bolts and nuts? Haven't found any yet apart from the head and rod bolts/nuts.

ARP Bolts, Studs and Nuts are stamped as such if they are 6 or 12 sided (dependiong on application) ARP or ARP PRO.
