Swedged or crimped hose ends?
Hey guys!
I am designing a brake system for my 86 and I'm not sure which method of fitting hose ends is more reliable... Does anyone have an opinion on that? (I'm talking of course about stainless steel braided hoses running from dual master cylinders through T connectors and in line master cylinder for e-brake) SFD |

Swedged or crimped hose ends?
crimp the edges.
From working with high pressure hoses in the oil industry of Norway. I can safely say that will be the best solution. But, use a proper machine to cramp the hoses. You will need a even pressure the entire 360 degrees around the hose. Kp62 - 135hp Ae86 - 135hp C32 Laurel - 440hp C32 Laurel - 125hp |

Swedged or crimped hose ends?
Thanks!
Well, I'm quite sure buying a crimping machine just to make 14 crimps will be a bit more expensive that to have them made... I suppose companies selling custom made hoses use proper machinery to obtain reliable crimps. Maybe that one: http://www.hrpworld.com/index.cfm?tpc=AN...on=product SFD |

Swedged or crimped hose ends?
why not buy hose and fittings separately ? and asseble yourself, nothing extraordinary.
I've bought everything here http://www.isa-racing.com/index.php/cat/...ungen.html and here is small instruction for assemble (TFE for breaks) I've also one question - I'm too will have separate front and rear cylinders. my question is about hose lenght. Rear is ok, it will be 100% equal, but what's about front? does it need to be equal lenght after T-joint? stock lines are not equal, but I suppose what it make a difference. owau no ka "I" |

Swedged or crimped hose ends?
This method is the so called "swedging". The original question regarded comparing reliability of this method (which of course anybody can do at home) with crimping.
I will make a T-joint in the middle for the front circuit also. The actual difference is very small, it has to do with pressure loss difference in the left and right lines. If you could actually feel this difference during braking it would be a slight delay in the brake force build up on the longer hose side. I guess there are a number of other factors that would make a braking system unbalanced, but every little thing helps, even for psychological reasons! SFD |

Now understand about swedging, thnx.
and for lenght I'm agree as well, Bernoulli's principles works everywhere, will make my system equal lenght. owau no ka "I" |
