oz 86 my toy my way :)
hit a wall for ages.... my wife was out of work and focusing on uni, so the savings plan went out the window
but she is back in work full time with a pay rise, so its full steam ahead. today i pick up a clutch, full plug in loom for the adaptronic i also pick up still looking for a gearbox... w58 or 57 would be the best but i cant seem to track one down here in brissy too easy engine bay has been poorly seam welded Im kinda over the whole thing a bit and just REALLY wanna drive it so i have changed the plan a bit. not doing any of the fancy things i had planned for the body... just get the heart in and driving. Then when i have my new 2 bay shed up, im finding a shell and starting from scratch on the body. all rust cut and fresh steel, seam welded, equal length trailing arms, inboard pedal arrangment, fancy fuel system, perspex windows etc etc etc. Also a new rear end using a f series diff. All sandblasted and properly prepped with a trueno front end. Then drop and swap with a few changes im sure ill think of between now and then All things being equal i should have the engine placed by the end of next weekend.... then gearbox needs sorting and tailshaft modded. and besides a final tune on the adap - it already has a nice beams program on it, we just need to clean it for quads - it should be good to go. will have a bit of fecking about with brake booster etc, but should all be going wanderful for the annual oh yeah and ANOTHER dodgy paintjob heres my welding mask... came with the welder ..... gggrrrrrrrrrr about where im at this morning.... got to get the car rolling again to move it to the engine clutch kick, switch, tree .... oowwww |

eanen gave me the hurry up.
yeah due to some very unfortunate stupidity on my part, i toasted the engine. The day i got it running, i killed it. oh well. Have been waiting for a fresh engine to arrive, was cheaper than repairing lol. Then i got it in my head to have a daily that was useful as a daily. I looked into getting a full interior for the 86, hooking up all the niceties, heater and aircon blah blah blah.... and it was all too much work lol. Me and the lady of the house have 2 dogs, and she likes to visit my olds about 2 hours away... or 5 mins from eanen lol. So the plan was born for the daily 4 door ae86. the KE70!!!!!!!!! this is the new bus. and the lady of the house running away from it.... cos its THAT slow! it does however, have THIS and will soon have these... for the rear end this collection of front end goodies if i can ever get them together consist of -brand new hsd coilovers -brand new pwr steering arms -brand new t3 brakes -86 hubs -86 backing plate trimmed then these... for shoes, 8.5-6 rear and 8-6 front that and a set of genuine chrome bumbers and quads is it for the outside. i did have grand delusions of being able to get this and this and all these nightmarishly well organised bits and pices for the beams on quads conversion into the car on the last week of my holidays. BUT the guy i was meant to be using his workshop for 18hours a day for the week to get it all sorted bailed on me... so im trying to do the suspension and wheels at home and ill wait till i get to tassie to finish the rest of it also forgot, this is meant to be a nice daily fun driver. so it has full interior. have put a lil stereo in, and will prob get everything retrimed at somepoint in something a little nicer than the baby blue hope you enjoy ps its a 1.3 auto with aircon and 80 000 km give it full boot with the aircon running and you nearly go back in time! thats a bit of an update.... and i promise to keep going. had a major hold up with the wrong hubs for my coilovers, but that has been sorted today, sooooo im hell bent on having the suspension and wheels sorted this weekend. will still only be as fast as a really sick horse... but will look like a posh donkey clutch kick, switch, tree .... oowwww |

so she just got driven round the block for the first time in like 3 months i think.
guards all need a skim and a bit of paint, but these are much much better than my first set on the 86 rear needs a BIT more room to be happy, but only a couple of mm more each side. from left wilwood caliper is refusing to bleed. Everything went really well with the bleeding, but the left caliper just wont pump fluid. needs a wheel alignment and will probably get a rise across the board, maybe 10mm all round. I love it this low, but i need to avoid upseting the constabulary as much as possible. thanks for reading boys oh yeah also cracked open my muffler... sounds like a vdub now lol 86 will be getting her heart re installed shortly, trying to tie up all the loose ends befor we move to tassie clutch kick, switch, tree .... oowwww |
