power steering on ae86 : suggestions
Keep manual steering, power steering won't get as much angle on an AE86. Get power knuckles, or if you can't source those get T3 knuckles and use the outer position. This should be enough you start rubbing the chassis rails.
What is your caster set to? If it's 3.5 or more, try 3.0 or 2.5. Andrew |

Again... what's your caster/alignment? Lower caster, less than 3.5 for instance will make it easier to turn/steer.

That's really high for an AE86. I'd try 3.5-3.0 to start with if that's the case.

I'm with assassin, most likely an alignment problem. Steering feel can change dramatically. Effort is not a problem on mine..same engine(almost), no PS.

To Xerius, when the car is stationary if you watch what is happening to the front of the car when you turn the steering you can see that high caster angles ensure you are actually lifting the front of the car with the steering wheel ! That's always going to make the steering heavy. Your caster arms must be maxed out to get that much angle.
