Hi!

Came accross this site from a link on the DriftWorks forum

I've got an '85 Corolla GT Coupé (not to hot on the Levin/Tureno/Sprinter thing but I'll no doubt find out soon enough reading the stuff on here!!)

I use it as my road car and for road rallying, picture attached

Okay so you have a Levin Zenki 3 door if I am not mistaken

Levin because you have the solid lights (trueno would be popup ligths, tureno to my knowladge is a mispelled Initial D trueno )
Zenki is early model which you can recognise by your bumper and your grill. (kouki or late model would have the blinkers at the sides of the bumper and a solid semi transparent grill)

Car looks pretty good! I still wanne get into rallying some day but I am way to afraid I'll wreck my car or worse

In Initial D some of the carachters say Tureno instead of TRueno. I think this is because of the fact that Trueno is harder to say correctly. T and r right after eachother is hard to say, but tu and re is very normal sounds.

i think it's pure a license problem.

Exactly the same problem, no license from the manufactures

Maybe it's the strange dutch language, but i haven't got any problems with the T and the R after eachother, in fact, a lot of dutch words have it

Most europeans, and especially scandinavians and dutch have no problems, I was talking about japanese

And I know they say TRueno many times too, so dont think its a license problem..... Then they should not be able to show the writing on the back of the car either... "baka des ka" or just strange license rules?

No it is indeed the license problem. When the series were made the first four episode contain no reference to Trueno (even the badges said tureno) because Toyota did not decide yet wether they should license the series or not. (Think again: anime series about streetracing. Not good for a familycar-brand's reputation)

Exactly the reason why I end up with tureno.org by mistake. When I found out I immediately registered trueno.org and was very confused... I thought it was a mistake by the animators at first, but I found out somewhere on another fanboy site.

They corrected the scenes in flashbacks and in Battlestage.
