AE86 suspension
Hello all!

Almost ending the first stage that is maintaining my AE86 in a stable condition to be just driveable, i'm almost done with things..... Finally!

Just got one question for now! About the suspension!

I'm thinking about buying some Koni's.

About the springs, which are better? The question is always the same....

I've heard that APEX ones are nothing much but regular springs.... So in your opinion, which springs really do the job?!

OBJECTIVE: Make it HARD! (No coilovers this time)

Thanks!

Whatever you do.. if you plan on running stock length struts, don't lower it more then a cm or so if you want the car to handle decently.

A 1cm lowered hachi, on koni's and 4k/3k springs will handle beautifully. Really a thing of joy in everyday life.

A wheel to steer the front of the car
A pedal to steer the rear

Thanks for the reply. Still which springs could really do the job?! You think lowering the car more than 1cm is too much?! I've always heard about lowering hachi's 3cm's with no major problems....

I'm maintaining all the structs, just switch the current bushings to the powerflex ones....

Which springs could be usefull in my case?! Eibach? I've heard good things about this springs....

I think, Eibach spring's come in Koni packages so that would be a good choice Thumbs up!

Lowering your car too much will simply change the geometry of the setup.
Therefore the car won't turn like how it should.
If you plan to lower your car, be ready to get some roll center adjusters.
Not sure what your purpose is. But at the end of the day I think a set of coil overs is the way to go.
