My own Initial D
A new year, a new car 8-)
Here are some specs of the Hatchi: 1984 (Zenki - Prefacelift) Sprinter Trueno 102000km 1.6 16v 4A-GE Engine 125 HP Digital Dash 14" Watanabe Wheels Jasma Catback Tokiko HTS Shocks / Springs, i dont know, i think TRD My plan is to get as close to the Initial D featured AE86 of Takumi, as possible. I like to get the car registered on April 1st 2012! Well that didn't happen, still waiting on parts Until then i try to do the following mods so i can enjoy driving the rest of the season Recaro Pole Position Full Bucket Racing Seat Takata 6 Point Harness Carbon Fiber OEM Style Hood C7 Carbon Fiber Cooling Plate C7 Carbon Fiber Eye Lids C7 Carbon Fiber Head Light Covers C7 Carbon Fiber Wiper Cowl New OEM Decals All Arround Engine tune up, sparkplugs, spark plug wires, filters, fluids, etc. TechnoToyTuning Suspension and Bars Hella Headlights Replace cracked or missing parts clean the car Weir Performance Axles and modified TRD 2-Way LSD Got the Recaro Pole Position Picked up the OEM Style CF Hood Got new wheels on the car to pass german inspection, BBS RS 032 - 6,5x15 ET-17 came across a bad F20C swap in the UK, only 600€ so i went all the way to sheffield and picked it up Pulled the steering rack because the inner axial rods had play 09.06.2012 Got the housing back from media blasting, allready painted in high heat resistant "light gray" 29.06.2012 Finally the Carbon Fiber parts came in, ground shipping mofo's... 11.07.2012 Got the Brakepads EBC YellowStuff Front/Rear. 13.07.2012 Returned the EBS YellowStuff because they didn't fit at all... 14.07.2012 Ordered some cheap Mintex pads 21.07.2012 Changed Gearbox and LSD Oil 25.07.2012 New Mintex pads installed, needed to grind a little, otherwise they wouldn't fit and/or slide good 27.07.2012 Picked up the Steering Rack from G&G Motorsport and went to the shop to put it back into the car, had a hard time with the new bushings. I was almost done by 2am, didn't feel like messing with the boots 28.07.2012 Back to the shop with danny to put the boots on and change the wheels for inspection, we did a test drive and heard a "klank" "klonk" from the rear. back to the shop i found out i used the wrong lsd oil drain and refill with petroleum based lsd oil. after a little driving the noise went away READY FOR INSPECTION  06.08.2012 Washed the car, another test drive, everything is ok 13.08.2012 im on leave now for 2 weeks 8-) Time for inspection 15.08.2012 called the inspection point for appointment -> 23.08.2012 8am FML 23.08.2012 8am car went through all the tests, also emissions and failed for "parking light has the wrong color". Did some research and found the correct lenses on a MR2 MK1 EUDM. Called Toyota and ordered a set, they told me the lenses will be there on the 18. 25.08.2012 Went to Toyota to pick up my lenses... only one side came in the stock information was wrong, now the EUDM lens has to come from Japan estimated shipping time 1 week 01.09.2012 Called Toyota, yes my lens came in. Picked it up, went to the shop and swaped the lenses. Lucky me on the first saturday of the month the inspection point is open 8-12. I had to wait for an hour and i passed but he couldn't hand me my paperwork because it was not prepared like they told me 02.09.2012 Put the Watanabe RS back on 04.09.2012 My dad went to the inspection point and picked up my paperwork. When i came home i checked it and they put the wrong year in...FML 06.09.2012 I called in late and went to the inspection point to fix the mistake. I also could leave early that day and finally got the car registered 07.09.2012 Installed the CF headlight covers, whipercollumn and shroud 09.09.2012 Carlos and myself put the CF hood on 10.09.2012 Installed the Recaro PolePosition 17.09.2012 Started taking the old suspension out... hammer_1 22.09.2012 New Suspension finnished |

seems like you want to build somehing like a period correct initial d car? nice. though the bucket seat in the cartoon was installed to tha hachi somewhere in the middle to late 90's i think.
btw, forget the últra racsing braces, mostly they are just scam that gives your car some extra weight. see what i mean? this piece actually prevents the original tension rods to work as they should. how clever is that?!... although stabilyzer bars might work. but never seen anybody actually using these. get your car a decent front strut tower bar (forget the all the rear tower bars, they are useless) get anti-roll bars. whiteline tanabe, whatever... if you want real structural rigidity instead of placebo, install a rollcage! |
