track questions:max oil/water temp,egt and other
I have bought a small lcd unit which can display oil temp,water temp,egt,...
It is also possible to set an alarm at certain temps. what would be the max safe temperatures? oil temp:110 degrees? water temp:90 degrees? egt also with my new ring and pinion its very loud(was redone twice at a shop) and i will keep the 4.7 like it is now until i have the 4AGZE and i will go back to 4.3 But for now what would be good sound dampening material for the loud whining?(highway is hell) |

I'll go WOt until i'll get the 120° on oil.
at that temp i self limit my shift up to 6500/7000 rpm to not go over than that temp. I run Shell Helix 10w40 oil. SR Team BURN THE RUBER NOT YOUR SOUL! |

@BOOMEX
thanks for the tip,i will add a bit more safety arround 110 115 then I run total 10W40 because thats what the previous runner was using for a long time. WHat about water temp? @zenki i will check it out thanks its not the rpm thats bothering me,im used to high rpm. Its the loud whining. for the rpm i will need to check but i think 4700 or so? |

Oil temp:
mineral or blended: 110°C, after that you can get some trouble (depending of the brand/quality) For full synthetic, you can go up to 120°C. But I will strongly recommand to run a oil cooler and keep your oil temp near 100°C. PS: Total activa 7000 = best way to get tons of black deposits... Save your engien, get a better oil than that sh*t ! Water temp: 90°C is ok EGT: 750°C/800°C max |

@zenki
I can tell you now its better to save a bit more and get the toyota oem 4.778. We reset the r&p 3 times and we had no luck,whiny as hell. Unless you don't care for the whining but highways is almost impossible to do due to the whine. @project d thanks for the info ae86 has standard an oil cooler,so thats a big plus i dont know what total activa? is but i use total quartz 7000 10w40 I have been thinking about full synth but the engine had been running 100000+km on total quartz 10w40(250 000 km) so it can't be that bad? Still going strong on the circuit. |
