Not too rusty?!
I guess ppl wondering "is it really that hard?" haven't tried something similar before.
I did, and i would never even think off repairing car that is rusty as this one. NHF. |

Not too rusty?!
Before I make the decision, I have to gether more information...
For the rear quarter panel, can I use 2dr coupe panel to replace the rust part? I guess it will be easier to use the 2dr panel to fabricate one for the 3dr...because it is very difficult to get one 3dr panel unless you buy a whole body... |

Not too rusty?!
Since this is the part where the two body shapes differ I would think that they don't mix.
About the restoration. It will take a lot of time to fix this up. I used 3 years on and off on mine. I think you just need to remember one thing as you mention yourself. It's a hobby. Once it becomes a duty its no fun any more. And remember, you can't put a price on a hobby ;-) So just go for it. Not too rusty?!
Have good look on Ivan141's thread and see how much work he had in fixing his car! And his AE86 was one which looked pretty good bodywise, so it 'only' rotted in the normal rustspots, this one is rusty at places a normal road legal AE86 won't rust easily and therefore will be rusty at the standard area's as well.

robokill Wrote:nice shell for a racecar project. Cut off the fenders and the rear wings. FRP to it and build it +1 for this. obviously. for race car base, where you cut and modify the chassis, this kind of condition is perfect. you would be sorry to cut and ruin a nice shell. |
