This has already mangled my melon
Is this why perhaps my other 4age seemed a hell of a lot more responsive because it had higher comp pistons in it? Am I really going to be able to make 150+ hp with my mods with these piddly pistons in comparison to high comp? |

Bean Bandit Wrote:I stand corrected, the dish is the same as other 9.4:1 CR pistons... first time I see one of those with a 20mm pin. I told you they existed And actually all the first generation of AE92 in Japan (and France, at least) had this pistons. I will email you the japanese table and maybe translate it for everyone else here But this picture already give you all the generations: PS: My AE86, who was one of the latest produced AE86 (10/1987) had one of this "red and black top" (7rib and red "16 valve" on the cover) I can't tell for the internal parts, I never opened it, but one of my friends (who worked at toyota) told me that Toyota made "hybrid" in 1987 (7rib but 40mm crank) So there is a good chance that mine is one of this |

Mine should be one as well since its not correct with any of the above pictures.
colors are from picture 2 its a september 1986 belgium TVIS 7rib 4AGE ae86 It even says 91 kw on my papers :o So hybrid would be started even in 1986. i can make pictures of pistons tomorrow, will need to do some work to show the crankshaft. |

my AE86 feels old now - although it's one of the first koukis it's from May 1985. On a positive side it didn't come with a CAT.
