Main weight penalty for US cars are the bumpers and the doors.
The bumpers have big crash bars in them that the EU/JDM models dont have, I believe the doors are also significantly heavier on US models, but I dont have any data on that. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

But anyway - wow - even so 133.7 kg is a lot... OK I'd like to have total brightness, Levin was sold in Europe, Trueno in USA right ? Was there any place where You could choose which version You want ? I found such a thing too: Zenki vs. Kouki The last major difference between AE86s is the one between models that came before and after the facelift which it recieved in the middle of 1985. Early models are reffered to as “zenki” and late models are known as “kouki” like with most other Japanse cars. Revised models recieved mainly cosmetic changes. The only techincal change that you should be aware of was the slight enlargement of rear driveshafts which make the zenki and kouki LSDs not interchangable... I found also in original Toyotas (japanese) booklet that Cd of 3-door Trueno versionis is 0.35 (with closed lights !) Still dont know whats about 2-doors and Levin. But I expect small differences... |

I have the CD of the 2dr levin in some old brochure, but I'm sure you can find it online too.
Japan was the only place I know of where people could choose between levin and trueno versions. Also trueno front end is heavier due to the pop up headlights and the longer bonnet. I agree about 133 being a large nr.. Maybe Toyota was more honest about the cars weight in the US because I dont believe a roadworthy stock ae86 is lighter than 1000kg's. Not 100% sure, but I believe kouki ae86's have heavier floor insulation than zenki cars. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

There were countries in Europe selling both...
And don't get me wrong, but all that info is already on several topics around the forum.... And for ages that all of us know the differences between zenki and kouki Ae86s.... I would call it a waste of time re-lauching a campaign like a "spot the differences" one.... Again don't get me wrong.... Regards |

It would be very nice if You can find it (the 2-door cd I mean), I will be very grateful. I'm still looking but it's like walking in the dark, since You know what to look for - you've seen it already - it might be a lot quicker way Edit OK Pack, if so why I cant find this and no one cant answer ? But You're right port of this data appears here - certainly not all. |

You're basically asking question about aerodynamics, braking weight distributions and other data from a car that was produced in 1983/1987!
All that data is somewhere, but on paper.... Getting that info from a car taht old is like searching in a farm for a nail..... YOu could ask about other things and people will answer you! Size of halfshafts, size of brake pump, oild pump, etc.... 3rib blocks, 7 rib blocks and so on..... |

Yes, the car is long time with us here, so we had a lot of time to collect all data.
I have 3 books and Im waiting for one more - unfortunately, they dnot include such information ... ... because it is difficult to get other books in Poland, Im asking people from around the world to top up the data. Don't get me wrong but I dont care about halfshafts, brake pump, oild pump size - so why ask easy questions ? I dont ask for what we all know, but about stuff interesting to me, and stuff that I need to determine. |

Also... Being this forum particularly EU getting US info on the AE86 could be hard... If you try Club4AG you'll get much more information about the US versions of the AE86.
