Power Steering
My corola has power steering, im pretty sure of, but it doesnt really feel like it compared to other cars. It takes little strength to steer the car but in my other car it takes NONE!!! should it be like that?

welcome to the wonderfull world of eighties technology..

It should be easy to spot the powersteering fluid reservoir and pump under the bonnet. I actually prefer to have some resistance in the steering wheel, at least it gives you an idea of what the tires are doing.

the weak powersteering makes it so that if i want to make a sharp turn, i have to use both hands with quite some force. but my 86 volvo has much stronger power steering...so its not an 80s tech thing

I'm not one for powersteering and agree with Ivan, having a little resistance isnt a bad thing. Then again I havent tried a hachi with power steering so how would I know?

Also a little off topic, I like the mock up paintshop job in your sig, but please tell me youre not really going for wheels that monstrous? Huh

May I ask what tires you are running?

I was bored and started to imagine how the car will look like after the exterior gets finsihed. I made the tires to big, theyre 13" right now, but 15 might be better...

Good thing because I thought you were going to go MTV on your car for a moment there. Tongue

Hey,

powersteered hachi isn't a bad stuff IMO. I also have one and I like it. Except that little thing that I have to renew it because it loses fluid.

About the strength: I tried many cars with P/S. There were "harder" and "softer" ones and I always liked the harder ones. For example on a 960 Volvo I gave a little much "hit" for the steering wheel with my hand and it almost turned in for itsef...that was crap.

In the hachi you can really feel the road with all its bumps. This is an important...not even important: rather _basic_ thing for sporty driving.

Hachi with p/s is goood Smile (until the fluid gets hot and starts to harden more and more... Smile )
