Nice work, still got a lot of wiring to do on mine but keep avoiding it like the plague.

Haha! Thanks for the compliment and I know the problem: once I'll do the 4AGE swap I'll have to rewire a lot of things and I'm not looking forward to that *at all*.
BTW: the reason for doing the extra harness is because at first I wanted to splice the original loom and join it with some TA40 loom I had lying around. But with no power in the garage to solder it properly this would be a far more elegant solution. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

I saw the photo today. They are not exactly the shade of brown I was looking for... But they do look lovely in his Starlet!

The Carina sailed through the APK (MOT) yesterday, so that means I can do the headlight conversion now. I had some sort of a problem as everything was depending on each other and the APK was nearing so I postponed that till now.
That means I have the following todo list: 1. Unmount current headlights and make template for brackets 2. Take new fenders home and cut the single headlight unit brackets 3. Make brackets from the templates and trial fit 4. Prepare fenders and front air dam for painting 5. Paint the fenders and front air dam in the same color as the rest of the car 6. Mount fenders and front air dam 7. Fit double headlights I'm a bit worried about 5 as the last time I painted something on my car the result wasn't that great. However I have learned a bit in the past 8 years so I might actually dare to try it. And I can always rub it down using wet 1600 grit sandpaper as I have witnessed in an MCM video. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Best of luck with the lights, hopefully I'll get the car sandblasted 'till the end of the month - no worries for colour then .

This happened today:
I moved the Celica to another place that is only 12 minutes away from my home. Much saner than 1 hour 20 minutes. I was surprised the 4AGE fired up immediately after not being used for almost a year. Usually when I start the Carina after a month not using it takes a few starts, but then again the Celica has a fuelpump and injectors while the Carina has a mechanical pump and is carbed. After reversing my mighty weight reduction mods by reattaching the doors and bonnet the car was ready to be moved on a trailer and towed to the new lockup. Coincidentally at the same time I had my last day at work yesterday and from Monday onwards I'll be a freelancer with a side project if I'm without a database related project. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Shame to see the car gone, it has a lot of history in the barn!
Hope to see it's guts relived in the Carina some day! "It's all about the heart, the people who focus on parts, turbo's and all that stuff...they're just losers." -Shinji Minowa |
