Norwegian TA60.

Hello people! My name is Sebbe and I am a 17 year old guy from Norway!
As of writing this I'm going to get my first ever car. I've always had a passion for old Japanese cars, especially Toyotas and this passion exceeded last year when my classmate got his Corolla KE70.

So, the car I'm getting a little beat up '82 Carina TA60. It's has a bit of rust that need to be taken care of, which hopefully will be taken care of as soon as possible. And some other small details.

I would like to ask if anyone knows of any front springs that will match / fit perfectly on the car. After all I need to change them 'cause the previous owner has cut them to make the car lower

And does anyone know of where I can get the classic JDM twin headlights which were sold on the Carina FR in Japan?

I don't really have any plans for it as of right now, as it's going to be my daily driver from the day I get my license. Probably gonna get a nice set of wheels for the summer tires. And maybe a engine swap from the 2T to a 4A-GE in the future.

About the springs: TA60 Celica springs should fit, as the struts and axle are mostly the same. AE86 won't fit out of the box as it requires adjustments on the rear axle.

The twin headlights can be found via Yahoo Auctions, but they rarely come up these days and most of the time they are sold for well over 30000 yen (250 euros / 2230 NOK). As you also need a man-in-the-middle and ship them to Norway, you have to at least double that price to get around the price that it will cost you to get it to your doorstep.
I found two complete sets currently for sale.

Damn, the twin headlights are a bit expensive. I've seen someone use Datsun 720 twin headlights on their Carina and I would say it looks ok, but not perfect. Which I would love to try if I find some in a good condition.

Found so to say the front springs, but it's for the RA6* and not the TA6* Celica. It's probably the same springs, struts etc., but if you know the original coil, wire and spring diameter it would be nice :smile:

I saw there is some other Carina TA60 owners from Norway here, but most of the posts or accounts are old or haven't been on in quite a while. But nice to see there still is a little community around and about.

TBH: I don't think the springs for the Celica RA6* are be the same as the Celica TA6*: there was a weight difference between the two of almost 200 kilograms. I believe the strut was also different and similar to the AE86. AFAIK the AE86 front springs fit, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Also the RA6* was available with IRS, so the rear springs won't fit either.

I believe Nyberrg fitted those 720 twin headlights at first, but later onwards installed the originals.
I think Nyberrg is mostly active on Instagram nowadays.

2 years later and I still haven't done anything to my Carina other than sell it. (P.S. gonna buy it back as soon as I sell my '87 Hilux)

But I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can get bodykits or quad headlights, preferably a company that ships internationally.

The quad headlights are pretty rare nowadays, so you won't find them anywhere for sale except on Yahoo Auctions. There is currently a pristine set of the kouki style for sale:

About bodykits: there are hardly any known to exist. There were some OEM parts like spoilers that were sold in Japan on the GT models, there were a few aftermarket spoiler kits like FOHA:
