Camshaft ID

Anyone have any ideas on what camshafts these are and what size? They are stamped JD and on the end stamped (what looks like) TRKI and then 1006

Don't know anything specific, but they look like they have pretty decent
duration and maybe 10mm lift. You might have to get them clocked by a
cam maker to get the full specs.

9.5mm lift is right at the maximum lift before the lobe hits the head casting. My guess would be 8.8mm lift and 288° duration.

Head has some work done to it they might be 10mm lift. These where fitted to a lotus sunbeam rally car and they normally do pretty out standing head work in the rally community around here so the castings might have been shaved away.

Judging by your pictures ther was no work done around the lifter so less than 10mm

If you can get at the cams with a caliper, measure twice (base circle
and then lobe to back of cam) and the lift will be the difference.

According to Oldeskewltoy, this...

... is a 297 (advertised) duration 10.410mm lift intake cam which needed
a fair bit of grinding on the head to get clearance for the cam.

This one is 300 (advertised) duration x 8.6mm lift...

.. and looks a bit more like yours.

This is what they mean by work around the lifter bucket it allows the cam to rotate.




OP's cam is a pretty long duration cam (rounded nose...) and it appears to be less than 10mm.




The cam in the photo below is 9.4mm.
