1SU flywheel is 2mm larger diameter. How many teeth in the ring gear?

Ok... and then it needs 2mm extension - is that large washer the extension? EDIT - you mean the depth of the 1SU flywheel is 2mm taller??

So... I've taken the ball and run with it.... I'm taking a $70 gamble......

So, I looked back at the info you gave me (SX70) and I did some research... the same flywheel is also used on the ST141, SA60 and SX60, along with a few others. Digging deeper I found a couple of part numbers.... (13405-69036, possibly also 13405-63010).

SOME of the cars listed also were 2S powered, not just 1S. It was then that it occured to me... the 1st gen Camry used a 2S engine here in the states. I did a quick search on Rockauto to see if they had a flywheel - they didn't, but they did have a ring gear... and its diameter (11.588"). If you remember, I measured the 5V @ 11.6. Finally, the 2S is a 6 bolt flywheel.... so I searched in a used parts database, found a few salvage yards that had them....


This one is my $70 "gamble" and it is on the way.....

"New" camshaft specs have been decided.... 268 advertised, [email protected]" with a cam lift of .303" valve lift should be about .435"

Additionally... for my engine, I'll NOT be using over the counter motor oil... I'll be using a motor oil high in zinc and phosphorus - it uses a flat tappet cam, and we are making it more aggressive, so it'll need all the additive help it can get.

Alright... the 2S flywheel will "fit" the 5V crankshaft.... YES

The center hole fits the crank snout, and the bolt spacing is correct. What is still unknown is if we will need a step/shoulder type bolt or not, and what the back spacing is - we'll need the crank in the block, and the starter fitted to verify back spacing.
