Ecu for AE86 4AGE
We are restoring the 1986 Saloon Car Championship winning AE86 and I've managed to learn a fair amount just reading forums and asking random sellers questions but with my latest revelation it's better for a hive mind.

Background: Car and donor car were stripped years ago before the company moved to our current workshop so parts have been misplaced and I come to this project after about 4 different people have tried over the years.

The car has an ecu with part number 89661-17140 which googling tells me is from a 4AGEL MR2 Mk1B, Will this work with the AE86 loom?

The engine was built by broadspeed and appears to be a smallport block with a bigport head with the TVIS removed from the sandwich plate?

Should I be looking for an AE86 ECU instead?

I'm using an early MR-2 ECU [ EH 89661-12092, for a manual trans ] without any problems. Both TVIS and idle -up removed, plus bigger cam.

According to this list your ECU is an AE86 GTS one?

I dont know the answer to your question, but if you can find the correct wiring diagram for that model of AW11 it should be easy to cross reference
it to the AE86 manual. I gave this a quick once over for EU market AW11's and AE86's (MAP sensored ones), and they are damn near identical.
The only differences I found were an idle up wire on the MR2 that the 86 didnt have and a circuit opening relay wire on the 86 that the mr2 doesnt have,
I'd expect those ECU's to be interchangeable.
Differences get bigger if you have big differences between the motors they control (e.g. GZE / emissions equipped models).

Here is some interesting reading regarding ecu's, ideally you would find part one of the article as well.... http://www.mr2oc.co.uk/ocdownloads/Techn...R2_ECU.pdf

I'm seeing lots of mentions of a mixture screw pin? Was this a feature on AE86 models too?

It suspect you mean the CO adjustment screw, and all MAP 4AGE's I've seen came equipped with it.
