Can you seperate trueno kouki bumper lights into zenki bumper lights?

Hey everyone,

I can't find any zenki trueno bumper lights for my Levin to trueno conversion project. However after taking a closer look at the kouki bumper lights of the trueno, it could be very well possible to take them apart.

To make my explanation a little easier, I have added pictures.

I wouldn' t abuse kouki lights to do this.. perhaps AW11 MR2 ones are more similar?

It's not possible.

You should really follow the MR2 AW11 approach. Direct fit (kinda).

I just have question, suppose I fit the MR2 AW11 lights in the zenki bumper, what do you mean exactly with "It kinda fits", will it fall out during driving?

I am not sure if the bumper fixing holes are exactly the same.... that's why i'm saying that.... apparently some people have used it... so it should work

The kouki indicators are bigger (higher) than the zenki indicators, so they simply won't fit.
Like Pack says, the glass of the MR2 indicators is the same shape/size and fitting holes are also at the same spot. I replaced the glass of my JDM Trueno with the ones from the MR2 to make them legal in NL. So I'd think they should fit the bumper with the same mountings.

His shed seems to be very organized, so I wouldn't be surprised if he has a set available.

You could also try to source a new assembly via Toyota with these part numbers:

AW11 bumper lights will fit, but the mounting studs are in a different spot, but it is possible to relocate the studs as the housing is exactly the same. I couldnt find any here in Japan for under $300 USD when I was building my car so I used MR2 ones. Also the harness is a little different so you will need to crimp up some adapter wires.
