Where theres a will theres a way!!
But I think that it would be far to much work and would cost alot to do. So much so that it wouldnt be worth it. And why would you want to....notch backs are stronger. I once read that you shouldnt believe everything you read. |

Jw, nice looking coup
Changing it into a hatchback would be a serious amount of work, probably will cost you more then simply buying a hatch back in the first place. You will need to find a wrecked one anyways because you need to cut out the whole rear of a hatch and weld it into the coup, they basically share the same floorplan and the same front, its only the back that is different. It will never be as strong as an original hatchback and you need some seriously skilled people to make it work. Still I think it would be a waste of money and time. Just find yourself a hatch! Or drive the coupe for awhile, I first wanted a hatchback more then a coupe but after I got the coupe I started to love it just as much. hmmm in that case ill wait and save up a bit for the 1986 TOYOTA COROLLA GTS then... but if that one sells before I can get it then I will get the SR5 although the difference in price is much, I think I will be satisfied ether way

Eventhough it might be offtopic: if you are intending to buy a GTS, why bother buying a SR5 then?

Banpei, probably because GTSs are getting way to expensive and a SR5 is still affordable over there

That's very true....
...but what's the point in buying a rusty, 18 year old (at least), SOHC, no-LSD car? a) Hype b) Building it into a GTS c)... Whatever the reason, it's a waste of good money if you ask me. Get a Miata. It will cost you much less in the long run, trust me. |
