Hey whats up everyone? I saw this trend and was very impressed that I decided to join your forum! http://www.aeu86.org/viewtopic.php?t=119...sc&start=0 Yeah well I own a 1985 Toyota Corolla GTS hatch back. We dont get the nice one piece bumpers or the levin front clips, or the front side markers. I've also knotisted you have 3 point rear seat belts. Well I got my ae86 from a junkyard for $400 and have invested about $3000 since then. Since then I have suspension now, a small port out of a ae92 wtih 10.3:1 compression on stock internals, jdm zenki bumper, custom exhaust with a greddy evo muffler, heres the pics they tell the story. When using a 4-point harness, it is extremely important that the shoulder straps go straight back or at most 25 degrees downwards.

Wait what about the harness? I heard of that before, but I heard it was better to have more angle, does anyone else have a harness setup I can see then?

Anyways I got the car from a junk yard with a clean title with a lean sale for $400, it was in horrible condition it sat there for 7 years. There was like $69,000 dollars on back fees and charges at the DMV haha, but the junkyard I bought it from took care of that.

Nice ride mate....looks like its come along way. Are there many AE86s in USA? My mate brought back the USA Auto Trader acouple months back and I saw that there was only 2 or 3 AE86s and they were expensive.

BTW whats a Murray...I see it on ya front bumper where the Trueno badge should be.

AFAIK the problem mainly is the Initial D hype in the US. Fanboys (ahum) swarming around on ebay bidding on every shiny bright freshly painted GTS (no SR5*) they can lay hands on. If they put a little more effort in finding one they might actually buy one for a lot less from an old junkyard or old lady with a bit of work on the car.
( *= Buying a SR5 is out of the question because it's soooo Itsuki )
But I guess the story is the same everywhere. Lucky enough we do have people willing to put their time and effort in a car.

Your story sounds just like mime. I have a Trueno hatchback, too and I bought it for 400 € (nearly 400 USD) from a junkyard, too. It´s a SR5 modded with a 4A-GE. A US-soldier left it in Germany when he moved back to the states. After some years on the junkjard I rescued the hachi and now it waits to get rebuildt.
