What makes you think an F20 is going in there ?
All being well I will secure a 2.2L F22 and transmission for my car today Lots of stuff will be for sale once I know I wont re-use it in the conversion. I will place all the parts for sale here. I will continue to use my my TRD 2-way LSD and back axle - just add a 4.7 final drive to match the honda gears a bit nicer. I 'hope' it will hold out - after all the honda engine doesn't make a lot of torque. Lots of you will think I am wrong for doing this but as far as I see it this engine is probably the one of the best 4 pot NA engine available. Its characteristics should match the hachi well as its low torque and lots of revs. So is my car now a toyonda or a hondota ? Regards Ian. |

Yes. F22C conversion on the way.
Have you seen the kp60 with F22C? Mean machine. I would do the same if I had the funds. Go Ian Drifting - best fun you can have in your car with your pants on! |

Thankyou Zax.
I know this is pretty much copying what has already been done - but people copy things for a reason I guess. I think by the time I have sold off all my old 4AGE bits the price may not be as bad as it seems. The biggest areas of work will be 1. chopping the tunnel 2. fabricating new engine mounts and modification to the front cross member 3. Wiring the hachi lights into the s2000 loom. I will use the s2000 instrument cluster but I will still need to cut into the loom for headlight switch, window wipers, ignition etc. So - this is the actual engine I have secured. It should get shipped in a week. Its very exciting stuff - but I want to drive it like 'NOW!' Regards Ian. |

I think you'll need to "replicate" hondas key along with the "start" button.
I might be wrong but ECU might not start without the code writen in the key. Just a thought. Drifting - best fun you can have in your car with your pants on! |

Getting the motor running without every single sensor connected to the loom is a no no.
I will have the entire loom from the car and instrument cluster, ecu, start button - the lot The trick to get round all this is to bin the ecu and run a full AEM unit made specifically for the honda loom. This will allow me to control the vtec too whcih is good. should have a price for that soon. Regards Ian. |

Very very cool!!! can't wait to see the finished product and hear your experiences. Don't mind the remarks of people who think that its wrong. Only posers have their opinions ready based on only some letters on the valvecover.
in the end an engine is an engine..it has some pistons, some dimensions etc etc..you have to drive it to get to know it. by the way..you are going to love the shitfer of the S2000. Compared to that T-50 boxes seem to belong in a truck. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

Ok guys,
its been a bit quiet on the car front for the last week or so as I've been busy with other stuff and we are still waiting for the engine to arrive. I have to phone the shipping company today and arrange delivery as the engine has completed the first part of its journey from the previous owner. Hopefully should have some new photos for you guys soon. The team of workers is assembled and they are ready to get busy. Regards Ian. |

Hi Ian
That sounds like a realy awesome engine project Looking forward to seeing some pics. I just recently saw the video with the hatchi and the honda engine. And they realy like the torque and power in the engine, perfect for an AE86 Regards Lars Veiss, Denmark Currently [URL=http://www.aeu86.org/viewtopic/dk-ae86-renovation-and-turbo-project---now-driveable/t/2474/start=150[/URL] |
