My little project
This is the car i'm restoring. Moving slowly, but still moving.
This is from the glory days It has little or no rust at all. Nothing that i don't know of since i took it all apart. The front chassis was a little bent thou'. But the damage seemd limited to just one place. So i bought parts from the dealership here in iceland and just waiting for time, and the guy who does all the welding for me, to put it all back together and get it painted again. A trained eye might see in the pictures where the chassis is bent out of shape. And This is the day i brought it home. Then the first task was to take it apart. Somewhere in betwean i did strip all the paint of the car. But after that i primed it so it wouldnt rust. Since i primed it i have found few places i need to sand down again and use little bodyfiller for small shopingcart dents. Also bought a new hatch lid and pair of front fenders. To add i also got a huge pile of part i don't even know what to do with. Also, this is my total junk parts car i'm using few parts from. Rusted to hell thou' it does not show in the pics. My little project
Not much has happend over the past year, exept i've been gathering parts from the toyota dealership. New front crossmember. In the EPC they call the other things "member sub-assy, front side" partnumber#57101 & 57102. I don't know what to call it in english, realy just the front "frame" of the car. Also few other bits and pieces. Think i paid well over 1200 euros in total this summer for parts. To me the 86 has proven to be one huge money pit, but i don't regret a dime i've spent on it so far, and yet loads more to come.
It must be great once it's finished Jón Mar "T3 is good. I'd go with them. And they're red. Red goes faster..." '87 AE86 3dr - Black '87 AE86 3dr - Red '88 AE92 5dr GTi - Black '95 ST205 - Red - sold |

Its been around the whole country. The cars we get are mostly like the once in japan in most specifics, jdm:wink: Only thing it needs, or maybe not, is powerlocks, electric windows and mirrors. Could do with power steering to, but who needs that anyway on theyr toy. We don't have all that much of ice, though the name says it. Have never really driven it much. But i've had some great times with the st205 celica GT4 i had two months ago on icy roads Jón Mar "T3 is good. I'd go with them. And they're red. Red goes faster..." Im supprised its actually called a Corolla too! I would of expected it to be a Levin! Dude it needs to be driven hard and more often I remember seeing a program about Iceland, and it looked like it could be a good place for rallying! |
