non progressive, red springs. Anyone any idea?
I bought these front legs from P-Nut lately.

[Image: AEU86 AE86 - non progressive, red spring... any idea?]

It has got red, non progressive springs on it.
Anyone got an idea which brand and how many they lower the car?

Since red isn't a std. Toyota color i'm sure they must be lowering springs.

Today i found out that KE20 springs have the same diameter as the AE86 ones, so i'm gonna try to lower my car with these springs first (i want to get rid of some bodyroll when i go try to drift my car the 18th of februari on a driftschool event Big Grin).

I really want to put these front legs as a complete set in my car, but that's to much work (refurbish brakes, fit AE86 brake cylinder + booster, make new brake lines etc. etc. etc.), but since the springs are the same, this is temporary.

Anyone got an idea?

Maybe they are Koni springs...those are red as well, and you see those around more often than eibach springs. While your at it I would also take som etime to inspect what kind of shocks are in there. the nut that holds the shock in would probably be round instead of a hexagon if it has koni's.

never mind....

after 3 hours of work, we discovered that the AE86 lowering springs don't change a fuck on my car.

Still feels like a boat, still as high as before.
Kinda strange, because the spring was a few cm shorter and both shocks looks exactly identical (exept the fact that the insert on the AE86 is slightly thicker)

//edit:

some pics i made:

difference KE20 vs. AE86 front legs (they are the same, but i didn't place them exactly in line.)

Well, you have to consider the fact that the stabilisers on your car are probably not very impressive either. And if those shocks in the ae86 struts are worn out it will still ride like crap regardless of the springs.
Get some koni's, or if your budget is in the gutter find some tokico HP or KYB GR-2 shocks.

Oh, and I also had set of yellow springs with koni shocks.
IMO red = eibach, yellow = koni.
Yellow springs were almost stock height, but bit stiffer then stock = good for snow. They have writen on them 222C-1113.
Hope it helps someone.

If the shocks are shot, then it will feel floaty regardless..

How difficult was the swap? Just bolt in? I read somewhere that you needed TE27 steering arms, is this incorrect?

A wheel to steer the front of the car
A pedal to steer the rear
