Hachi wont start.. anyone have a Grenade?

Hey everyone.
So I was driving down the road and all of a sudden the exclaimation point lit up on the dash and then the motor died. The battery is fine, and the motor turns over just fine. I thought it might be the fuel pump. But last time my fuel pump died that light didnt come on. I checked the fuses in the engine bay, the fuse box on the drivers side and the fuse on the passengers side also, all are fine. Where is the fuel pump relay? I put a test light on the two wires that go to the fuel pump and had a friend try and start the car. No power to the pump. Im stumped here. Please help.

The fuel pump relay is located above the ECU...that should be a likely spot to start looking. Did you also check your main fuses (the ones on the battery clamp)?

Since you're getting some kind of indication on your dash I think the ecu is still working.,..but I dont know what exclamation point you mean.. The check engine light usually comes on when somethings wrong.

I think the light that is coming on is the E-brake light. But that light doesnt work normally when I use the Emergency brake. Yeah the main fuse on the battery terminal is a little messed up. I borrowed a battery that was a little too big and I broke the top off that 30A fuse... but everything looked Ok. I cant seem to pull the fuse out though. Any thoughts.

there is a trick to getting those fuses out...but I dont know it..ruined one battery clamp trying to get it out. What you need to do is find blown fuses that where previously okay.. then backtrack down from there to see what caused it. Without a blown fuse...I'm afraid I would be a bit stumped...might be a loose connector if that's the case.

All the fuses are ok. The only fuse that looks suspicious is the 30A on the battery clamp... needle nose pliers wont take this thing off.

Just check if there is voltage behinfd the fuse..that should be adequate..i suspect uyou have a faulty or loose relay

Like I said before...it right above the ecu..
called circuit opening relay..

nothing to do with your car not starting but that light came on in my car when I didn't have enough brake fluid..

Weird Mux.... maybe that light is just an all purpose warning light.

And Ivan... My hach was an original US spec SR5 and I converted it to Euro spec and all the relays and crap are all over the place as I had to rewire everything..... So the relay says circuit opening relay on it?
