Euro Drift Round 2 - AE86's are on form!
Yeah, Euro Drift Round 2 took place at Teeside on the 29th of April and what a fantastic time our Corolla gang had!
Started out on Friday night and we convoyed North at around 7pm.. At about 9pm my exhaust starts blowing... 11pm its blowing harder.. We arrived at the hotel at about midnight, and i hope for the best, you know, im thinking loose centre section or something? The usual.. Well i open my bonnet and see fire coming from the first primary on my manifold. The whole of the first runner had cracked off from the the head flange. Awesome. :confused: Met a few other guys up there and non of them had a welder so we hit the sack and got up early and left for the track, in search of a welder. I wasnt holding out much hope and was kinda disapointed (engine blew the day before Teeside last year, and exhaust this time) but luckily the track had a welder! Whipped the manifold off, welded that shit up and stuck it back on the car.. Problem solved! On with the day! I was a happy boy again... So yeah, highlights of the day were Myself, Jay (White Levin 3 Door) and Will (Silver over Graphite 2 Door) ripping it up all day in a tripple drift stylee, some good close calls etc! Will managed to hit a tyre wall in a comedy fashion and just bounce clean off it somehow, fucking hilarious. Dirt dropping all over the place, 3 wheeling it etc and general pissing about carried on all day and night.. For example, Will was filling his Van up with Diesel on the way home and just decided to do a piss in the middle of the petrol station.. Holy shit man that was funny, then he covered it up with sand.. And then he goes in to pay and the attendant is like "WOAH, a Trueno and some Levins just like from Initial D the Legendary Manga".. hahah fuck, how we laughed.. At him. Anyway, the results are as follows: Pro Class 1st: Ian Harrison (RS13) 2nd: Chris Parry (thats meeeeeeeeeee, AE86) 3rd: Jay Walker (AE86) Clubman Class: 1st:Jay Walker (AE86) 2nd:James Grimsey (RPS13) 3rd: Pete Barber (A31) 4th Will Flemming (AE86) I also won "Most Entertaining Driver" for my stupid over-taking in the finals.. Ran out of track and just used the grass/hill side. No problem. Haha..love the story. Such a shame that there's a few km's of water separating you guys from the rest of civilisation. I'd love to come watch you guys at the track sometime.
