indeed.
at first, the CA18DET is wrong Choose an engine which doesn't brake down every 10km "It's all about the heart, the people who focus on parts, turbo's and all that stuff...they're just losers." -Shinji Minowa |

Too bad one of the images doesn't load. I thought I could recognize a 4AG TVis on the engine when I saw this topic yesterday.
Attached the other images just in case they might disappear as well. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Oops, my wrong: it looks like a legitimate CA18DET inlet.

Mux213 Wrote:hey guys, don't make zax very angry now, he's a mod remember Well! Doctor is right, the CA18DET is rubbish, it has big ends made of Chocolate! (However the CA18ET is just brilliant) WHY these people do this kind of thing is beyond me. How to screw up a perfectly good Hachi...? Stick a Nissan engine in it, and not a very good one at that. If it was any other car I wouldnt care. CA18DET in an S12 is a brilliant swap, a bud of mine has done it and I must say its an amazing car! Leave Hachis as nature intended. 4AGE. still no 86 ________________________ |

a friend of mine had one in his Sunny Coupe (engineswap)
I think he had it for half a year. Engine blew 4 times. 2 times the big ends. Next the wastegate died, took (T25) turbo and AFM/MAP or whatever it's using with it and again the big ends. The last one, sounded like a wizzly-wobbly piston, but probably the big ends again. Bunch of grouches here :-)
Great car, the matte black in combination with the shiny rewinds looks stunning. The rest of the car looks pretty well taken care of too. Probably one of the nicest hachi's of the european mainland. Hope the owner shows up here some time..although with the previous remarks, I think we have just made sure he wont. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

I have nothing against the engine swap..that's something people have to choose for themselves, but calling this one of the most beautiful ae86's on mainland europe is pretty darn weird (NoHachi is taking the piss again most likely). It's not ugly, but it's a far cry from what I'd call beautiful
