Dude..you know that the only thing a strutbar does for a miata is add weight right? The miata doesn't even have struts and the double wishbone suspension introduces totally differen stresses into the car then McPherson struts do. All the strut tower does is keep the shock in place, the shock doesnt carry any sideways load. Load is introduced through the pickup points for the suspension on the (sub)frame.
If you really want to stiffen the car, spend some real money and buy one off the underbody cross braces. These make an astonishing difference
