AE86 in Kanto Area Tokyo Japan

me too i am planning to move to japan sooner or later...how much does an ae86 cost for insurance (and taxes etc) for 1 year over there? revision every 2 years? is it expensive? do you have to put it back to original for the revision?? I hope not...

you mean shakken? that is not so much on the AE86 as the taxes are the most expensive part. You have to pay a car weight tax, recycle tax, shakken fee, yearly tax (I forgot for which one) but basically it lasts for 2 years the shakken but you have to pay tax every year (about 40,000 - 45,000 yen a year)

But that is the cheap part.

Parking space is the pain. 15000 yen - 50000 yen a month in Tokyo.

In the country you can get it cheaper like 5,000 yen - 15,000 yen
If lucky like me you can have a yard and then it is free where I have 26 cars at the moment.

So I pay only for 1 car space near my house in Nerima now

so how much you pay total for the ae86 every year (excluding parking)?

shakken is Japanese MOT kinda thing if I am not mistaken.

You don't wanne put your car through shakken, probably 99% of the cars on this board would fail it.....

In Japan, we have to pay automobile liability insurance, MOT test(shaken), weight tax and car tax. Also we need car parking for my car.
Car parking the most expensive in Tokyo in Japan except inconvenient place.
