Power Steering in a LHD AE86
Hi,
I'm considering the instalation of a Quaife Quick Steering Rack. However as my AE86 don't have power steering, maybe the steering will become to difficult to use especially in city manouvers. So, i would like to know what i have to buy in order to fit a power steering in my LHD AE86? Thks for you support. Cheers |

or just go 155/75r13!...no problem turning those tyres guaranteed!
But seriously.. if you do more city driving than spirited driving, you might want to reconsider the quaife rack (that is, if you dont think you'll manage without power steering). FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

Rasteirinho Wrote:Anyone here had quaife quick steering rack without PS? Quaife does not make a powersteering quick rack. I run the manual steering with the Quaife quick steering rack installed and have no problems at all driving it, or drifting it (running 2.5 degrees caster tho) It's only a problem when I'm at a stop in a parking lot. Hum...
I'm thinking to fit 195/50 R15 tires in 7J Compomotive wheels... Maybe these are bit harder than the 155/75 R13. First i will see how it's the sensation with the normal rack and the fat 195 tires... Maybe with some caster adjustment i'll do the job... |

i wonder what would be the solution for me. i have a 1985 kouki ae86 levin with manual rack and i would like to replace my whole steering with new parts. i would like to have 2-2,5 turns from lock to lock with power steering and maybe some more wheel lock angle.
whats your opinion professionals? i know theres the battleversion kit, but they say its not compatible with ps. does quaife only makes qsr for non-ps ae86? it is obvious for me that i must use the steering knuckles form a power steered ae86 but what other parts do i need? thx in advance |

No Quife doesn't make a rack for ps, but you shouldn't be too concerned about the manual... There is a few danes running the QSR and it really isn't that hard to turn. I have one in my car, but it still isn't running I did however try it in one of my friends car and it feels great even though I have gotten used to the ps in my Carina
