What is this?
I stupidly drove over a grass verge the other day not realising the slight dip at the end and I heard something happen under my car and after inspection I noticed this cable (see picture) and I dont know what it is

Grass verge? I don't know what it is, but if it's addictive quit now! I'm no expert, but it looks like your fuel tank is no lnger supported. You really do have to get a better picture though

I don't think it's anything to do with the fuel tank as it's on the wrong side of the car and nowhere near it. As for the grass verge. Its not a habbit just a one off shortcut.

Hmmm, still a bit vague... I can't really tell what it is?
More something like a brake line?

Part of me thinks it could be something to do with the aftermarket alarm system but it seems quite original bar the end of it where there is a black and white wire inside that have rubber connections at the end like they should be connected to a radio. So yeah im confused

I just checked the EPC but I don't see it... I don't know how far to the middle of the car this is but couldn't it be one of the small bumper supports ? At least my car used to have those... They hold the distance between the lower corners of the bumpers and the car.

Definitely not a bumper support. There isn't one on the opposite side of the car and it's got wires inside so unlikely to be anything to do with the bumper.

There aren't too many cables that go under the car so I'll throw a wild guess - reverse light switch? If you put your car into reverse, do the lights turn on at the back?
