Hi there, seems like I'm the first real AE86owner on this board!

I'm Jesse, 24years of age and I live in Bussum, NL.

After having seen lots and lots of driftingmovies (downloaded from the internet) I started to get more interested in the car all these crazy Japanese guys were using; some kind of old Toyota. When I found out it was an AE86, which was RWD+LSD I decided this was the car I wanted to have. Easier said than done.... Nearly a year after I started looking for one I found a red 1986 Coupe which I bought in december 2001. I dove this car until I got a MINI in june 2003. Ever since the car has only been driven for pleasure.

Of course one AE86 isn't enough, so when I was offered another Coupe somewhere around april 2004, I decided to buy it. This is the 1987 silver two-tone Coupe. And "unfortunately" my dad found another AE86, which also happened to be for sale, I bought my third coupe! A red over black 1986 Coupe this time....

Welcome Jesse! Those first two cars look brilliant man, I love the red color and the two tone looks really clean.

You wont be the only AE86 owner on this forum for long though, I promise you thatSmile

Hi Jesse!

Welcome to the forum! Smile
Unfortunately you are up to now indeed the only AE86 owner. Mux is trying to buy one (he already agreed to buy the car), and he will be the second then. Wink

Anyways, both your coupes are looking great! Smile

The red/black car is currently under construction to prepare it for a new MOT (last MOT exceeded july'99...)

When I bought this car, it didn't run, but thanks to a new fuelpump (& Rikard!) we got it back to life. The engine runs great, but I'm afraid the starterengine has passed it's glorydays... We'll see how long it lasts! All in all the car has pretty much rust damage, but somehow most of it is located on the easy interchangeable parts, like doors, bonnet and bootlid! I've already bought a new set of doors and a bootlid (rustfree!). There is however some rust on the bodyshell of the car. Especially the edge under the bootlid is pretty much "gone". Also the bar onder the boot (RHside, the one which starts just behind the right rearwheel and goes over the fueltank) has passed away. But nothing a little welding can't fix... Somehow the rearwheel arches are in pretty good shape. Just a small spot on the surface, nothing more. The right front fender is ok, but on the left one there is just some small rust on the surface around the antenna, but a little sanding will be enough to solve this problem.

A few pics of the problem area's:

Correct! Koni shock absorbers with Koni springs. Rims are from Wolfrace (15", 7J, ET15)
