well i respect everyones opinions, its flat black cause all my money went into the performance and i could not afford paint, i love the ca motor i agree fully if its still the 15 year old original bearings then yeah it will probally shoot out the block , i have changed the rod bearings and beat it up and still on my first ca of this car, i love it and when u feel the power band of this motor against a turbo 4a g im ca18 lover for life , we all have our own opinions, so that being said my choice of motor is my opinion of good thanks kyle

I respect all opinions, but I think that AE86 must be N/A and whit motor made by Toyota.

I think he had it for half a year. Engine blew 4 times.
2 times the big ends.
Next the wastegate died, took (T25) turbo and AFM/MAP or whatever it's using with it and again the big ends.
The last one, sounded like a wizzly-wobbly piston, but probably the big ends again.

I do miss the moments when that stupid thing ran without problems.
The kick in the back when the engine revs over 3500 rpm was brilliant!
Sounded fooking nice!

But the are questions about the quallity of the engine after it was overhauled. But i dont have anymore aith in the ca18det

But if you scroll on sxoc.nl trough the tecnical topictitels, you'll see that there are very much topics with engines that doesnt run like it should. Rattles, stuttering, losing boost etc. A shame really, cause when it works, it's a beast!

A bit off topic I suppose, but speaking of CA18DET's a friend of mine has removed his from the S13 and put this one in instead.

THAT is a swap I like!

As a sidenote his car is now *lighter* than with the CA18DET

i see alot of critism on this swap in this car, but i have to say that unless you have seen this car in action you cannot say anything..this cars runs like a champ and is one of the best drift cars i have seen that someone has made on a budget, instead of the guys i see on here that have so much money to completely restore a car, so its harder for some to get to that level. But i do have to say the heart of the car doen not make you any less of a hachi lover.

in that case the lexus v-8 hachis and the turbo hachi people build are rubbish in your words as well......

i love hachis and this is a prime example of a car a noob could drift..it drifts with ease and is easy to control...
