FB indeed is great with the 13B

But don't be put off by the SA's, 12A engines have great tuning potential! The only downside of the SA's is that many of them have rear drum brakes and that they're rusted.
But slam some mikumi's and a good flowing exhaust pipe on (forget what you've learned about piston engines and scavaging and shit, all don't matter with rotaries, simple header, big pipe, good muffler UP UP UP HP) and you'll run circles around FCs. Do a nice porting job on the intake and exhaust ports, you'll be leaving FDs in the dust (and stopping at every fuel station Big Grin ).

Higgi mentioned he did 8liters per 100km with his FC NA convertable on a trip from tjechie to greece. But that is damn little for a rotary.

I would say, for an NA its more around 10 to 11 liters per 100km if you're engine is in good shape.
For turbo it would be about 12 liters per 100km (20liters/100km if you're doing track).

My red N/A usually did about 12 liters per 100km but it wasn't the best running engine.

Offcourse if you start tuning, that thirsty engine really starts to drink.. Big Grin

A112,

Best is to go to http://www.rx7club.com and check out the europian section. Some good people over there. There are some guys in Tjech that do alot with FCs that can get most of the things you need usually for good prices.

I haven't rebuild a 13B yet but I plan to do in the near future. How much it costs depends on the state of the engine you're starting out with but I would say 600 euro's is bottom price if you do all the work yourself and there are no big surprises. That would replace apexs, all the important gaskets, and some other tidbits you should really replace on a rebuild.

Offcourse if the engine was recently rebuild or is still good but you just blew an apex (happens esp. with turbos) then often its enough just replacing the apexs and that would only cost 200 or 300 euros or so..
