cusco rollcage
The Cusco cage costs about 1300eur here in Finland - for 1000eur, we had this cage professionally made into our Endurance CRX from cold-rolled carbon steel (approved for FIA sanctioned events);

Custom cages for the win!
Chixican, is it just me or did you list the fact that it's bolt- instead of weld-fitted both as a positive and a negative? xD Getting a pro shop to fit one in for you is usually cheaper if you go for steel, about the same price for aluminium and possibly more expensive if chromoly, but it fits like a glove and offers that belly-warming feeling of dude-that-thing-was-built-from-scratch-for-my-car-and-i-love-that... |

domi Wrote:Custom cages for the win! haha, well it is a positive in the sense that you don't have to weld, and if you don't have a welder it's a plus. In all reality as I listed in my first post, I would take a tig welded custom cage in place of the cusco any day of the week. Overall I didn't like the cusco because I didn't feel "safe" once it was put together. I felt that the bolts might shear because I don't remember the bolts being a grade higher than 8. Or the backing plates would give out (both the car floor pan and the cusco plates bend to conform to each other). The combination of the two just did not make me feel comfortable. |
