Did the first test fit of the intake today to see what has to be done to make everything fit and work. Have to look into the water system though, to see what I can sort out by mixing and matching RWD and FWD parts, and what needs to be fabricated (if any).

Skassa's answer to my post about seam welding the chassis convinced me to give it a try anyway. I've never done anything like this before, and am an amateur when it comes to welding, so I can only hope the end result will be ok. All i can say so far is that it takes a LOT of time
Here are a couple of pics from the first pieces. Any comments or hints of things that might be done better will be apreciated. '85 AE86 4AGE, '94 SW20 3SGTE, '83 KP61, 72' RA21 |

Looks nice, Morten!
Some of the reinforcements I've seen has had longer seems - not just spotwelds. Perhaps 2 cm seems ang 3 cm in between would be a lot faster to do and just as strong... Sarcasme is just one of the things I offer Daily driver: '92 Toyota Carina E GTI Rebuilt project: '86 Levin hatch |

I've seen both in pics from different sources. BTW, its not the welding itself that is time consuming, but cleaning the seams before welding.

Well, I finished welding the engine compartment and gave it some new paint. The rest of the chassis will have to wait though, as I really want to be driving the car soon. Hehe. Some more updated pics:

After some stupid idiot mistake involving ARP headstuds interfering with distributor and destroying both the TRD exhaust cam and the distributor the engine has finally been started. Here is a little teaser:

Oh yeah... nice ITB sound!
Are the front fenders FRP parts or just normal parts without paint? |
