Meet at the ring
hey guys
What a fun weekend Hope all of you had a good ride home without incidents! I was happy meeting you guys, unfortunately we were often busy doing laps on the ring, so in the end I couldn't say goodbye to most - but it was really busy so no worries. I hope you guys who got rides with our buddies in their hachis had some fun, too By the way, my co-driver and I switched places often, that's why it looked like I was running the ring all the damn time I only did about half the laps. As mentioned above, it was impressive what can be done with this car on the Ring! I was running the pretty soft trd setup, plus trd brake pads and it performed really really well. Corner entry speeds were just sick. This car stops sooo well, probably due to the light weight and all. We could take on many much more expensive cars in the corners easily. On the straights it was a different story, but when taking the speed with you out of the corner, it was still possible to run pretty decent lap times. For those who care, lap times with my AE with street tires, and a bad understeering alignment (needs more camber) were around the 10 minute mark. I'd say the best runs were maybe 9:45 or 9:50 max. A racing driver would probably be capable of doing a 9:30 or 9:35 with my car, but faster won't be possible with those tires I think. We really have to do this again! Nice pics guys, I'm also searching the ring photographer's sites at the moment to see if any of us were caught on camera. @Jan Those are some nice photos, especially the ones with you two on the gravel parking lot! those should become wallpapers! Here's one a friend showed me so far. No idea who took it http://www.directupload.net/images/070409/UI5QiE9a.jpg i look tired interesting how my car looks much lower when our asses are planted in the seats. my buddy also has a few good pics, I will be uploading them soon. edit: I searched trough many Ring Photographer's sites now, too see who was caught on camera from that day. pretty hard work - below if what I have found so far. will keep searching. http://www.racepicture.de/html/joomla/bi...070401.JPG ^^^^ my body roll king! http://www.best-of-booorn.de/displayimag...32&pos=200 http://www.pixum.de/members/towa9_pixum/...778a3559ed http://images.mw-sportfoto.de/2007/touri...g_8019.jpg ^^^^ me again, in one pic with my brand new racing gloves! (too sweaty hands in that heat) http://www.best-of-booorn.de/displayimag...32&pos=330 http://images.mw-sportfoto.de/2007/touri...g_8143.jpg http://images.mw-sportfoto.de/2007/touri...g_7799.jpg http://images.mw-sportfoto.de/2007/touri...g_6105.jpg ^^^^^ my friend thomas giving it hell! (why are there twice as many pictures with him driving? ) http://images.mw-sportfoto.de/2007/touri...g_6264.jpg http://images.mw-sportfoto.de/2007/touri...g_6265.jpg ^^^^ two pics of a red german hachi driving. And I think on the passenger seat is one of the slovenian aeu86 guys? Sorry, i don't remember all the names from that day |
