My 20v ITB installation
I only have problems with 15 year old wiering looms that have been "repaired" over and over again. If I do it myself I can not see the problem with it. You just have to have a clear head and a plan when doing it.

My 20v ITB installation
Wiring up a complete car takes TIME but doens't make stress. even when your not an electrician. it's not that hard, just make plans before you begin. and get 2 digital multimeters with PEEP function, they cost about $10 each so....
I did it 4 times now from the ground up, ie started with just 100meters of black 1.5mm2 wire and ended up with nice and tidy looms in the car 3 days later. make sure you've got the right tools though. wiring up the engine is the easy part believe me. getting park functions to work in wiper instalations with 2 different makes of parts, thats far harder to get right. grtz Thomas My car weighs only 496 kilograms with the 4age in place! |

My 20v ITB installation
Sorry to dig up this old thread, but Ian, can you take pictures of your TPS?
I'm building similar setup on Pero's ae86 and i would like to see how it's solved on your car. Also do you know where do 2 additional vacuum hoses go (except to 4 throtles)? Tnx Drifting - best fun you can have in your car with your pants on! |

Hey Zax,
the TPS sensor is mounted on the back ITB closest to the brake booster, There is a rod that runs straight through the casting to control the pair of butterfly flaps - think its just attached to that. will hunt down the hoses for you - pretty sure 4 of them are collectors from the ITB castings, I think one goes to the brake servo/booster and another to the map sensor I will do some proper hunting tonight for you. Regards Ian. |

I think the hose all connect into a vacuum resevoir, for the map sensor, this is to stop vacuum pulsing from the individual throttle bodies. I linked all four of mine together with T pieces from a fish tank supplier., they through a old fuel filter to act as a resevoir. The car is at the rolling road so don't actually know if this works, but will keep you posted.

My 20v ITB installation
I'll be trying something (just for fun and test) but I am gonne use the 16 tps sensor on the 20v itb and make it run on a standard 16v ecu. IF you mean the hoses form the itb's here's a list:
the first itb (with tps) has 2 lines one on the buttom and one on the top Last one has 2 as well 2 and 3 have just one so 1 and 4 have 2 air lines 2 and 3 just 1 mount the buttom ones to a resevoir and mount the resevoir to the MAP snesor.and if I check back with the 16v you can close the other 2 lines.
