'We will drive clockwise and anti clockwise. We also will create a circuit with left and right corners and we will use the parkinglot, if somebody's asks for. We will provide 3 instructors. And the best news is probably that the track is 17 meters wide, so when you turn around, you have plenty of space. please let me know if you are coming, greetz Joep

Open Belgium Drift Challenge

Op Sunday 30 januari 2005 organiseert Action Racing School een Driftchallenge op Raceway Warneton. Voor de toeschouwers geldt gratis entree. Voor diegene die nog onbekend zijn met het driften het volgende: Driften is een spectaculaire manier van rijden, waarbij de coureur de auto zo dwars mogelijk en dus zo “overstuurd” mogelijk door de bochten zet. Deze vorm van autosport is enorm in opkomst, omdat het voor de toeschouwers erg spectaculair is en voor de coureur een geweldige uitdaging, want het is niet makkelijk. Het vereist behoorlijk veel carcontrol en de kunst is om balans te vinden tussen tegensturen en gas geven. Alle achterwielaangedreven (race)auto’s zijn welkom.

Action Racing School nodigt iedere coureur uit om de kunsten te komen vertonen. Er zijn instructeurs aanwezig, dus ook voor diegene die het driften onder de knie willen krijgen, is deze dag een prima gelegenheid.

Programma:
09.00 - 10.00 inschrijven / technische controle
10.00 - 12.00 uur vrij driften om de baan te leren kennen
12.00 - 13.00 uur briefing + lunchpauze
13.00 - 16.00 uur Driftchallenge
16.00 - 16.30 uur prijs uitreiking en sterke verhalen uitwisselen

Open Belgium Drift Challenge

On Sunday 30th of January 2005 Action Racing School is organising a drift challenge on Raceway Warneton. Entrance for spectators is free. For people who are unaware of what drifting is: Drifting is a spectacular way of driving where the driver keeps the car as sideways as possible (thus being oversteered) throughout the corners. This form of motorsports is starting to get really popular as its very spectacular to watch and is a real challenge for the drivers skills. It demands alot of car control to ballence the cars throttle and steering. All RWD cars are welcome to compete.

Action Racing School is inviting all drivers to display their skills. Instructors will be present for those who still wish to learn drifting or improve their drifting skills. This day is an excelent opportunity

Program:
09:00-10:00 Write-in, technical checkup of the cars
10:00-12:00 Drifting practice to learn the track or just have some fun
12:00-13:00 Breefing and lunchbreak
13:00-16:00 Driftchallenge
16:00-16:30 Price ceremony

HEADS UP PEOPLE!

Just spoke to Joep on the phone, helping him out with some webthings on this

First off, keep an eye on http://www.actionracingschool.com for more information about the event. A signup page should be available there soon!

Second, the event has been moved up one day! Because alot of people called up saying that they have to work on saterday but will likely attent if this will be held on a sunday they have moved it to Sunday!

The track will be open for people coming on Saterday aswell, details about this will follow shortly but if all goes well there will be 2 days to drift with the driftchallenge itself ending this fun weekend on Sunday.

Further more, there will be 3 tracks on Sunday.
A big "roundabout" will be created on one of the big parkinglots. Novice drifters can start practicing here in relative safety.
In the area in the middle of the oval a small course will be layed out to drift around.
Finally the oval itself will be used for high speed drifting and for the compo.
