The file was used to modify the top ring gap. Was to tight for this engine application.

Hi! First 30 miles below 3000 rpm have ran already without any flaws from the engine. To repair is a noise (clunk when lightly tapping the accelerator and rasping at certain rpm's) that sugests excessive backlash between the gearbox and rear axle. Rear axle was assembled by the book, with new bearings and solid spacer with all backlashes within spec.

I've installed a whiteline panhard bar (that is not very easy to adjust) and I've read that I should have loosen the driveshaft center bearing bolts. Gonna try that as soon as I get home tonight.

Anyway, I'm gonna run another ~100 miles gradualy revving the engine until 5000-6000 rpm and then I'll change the oil to Castrol RS 10W60 and replace the oil filter.

The Greddy Suspension is not that harsh and gives a nice ride. I haven't really tried it hard, but the first impression is good. My kidneys might survive!

140 miles... looking good so far.

Assembled the Apexi SAFC and started tuning it. It seems easy to work with and the results come quick. I might think of bigger camshafts in the meantime.

The only problem left to solve right now is an excessive backlash (with a clunk sound, but not the same has the tomei lsd) from my rear end that I think comes from the half axles, but I'm not sure. The ring and pinion (4.77 were installed by the book and had no excessive backlash, new bearings, etc.

Along with this, is a vibration sound that appears when I decelerate and the car rolls in gear at 3000 rpm or so. Don't really know whats wrong and if it is related to the backlash.
