small port in which model

Dear all,

I was just wondering in which models and which years the small port is used ?
If I look for parts etc I always look at the AE 92 but it seems this car also came with 4 af and 4 afe ?
The corolla GTi ( 1987 - 1993 )uses the small port but others ?

If I need a head gasket for instance etc I do not think there are any differences between 4age´s ?

AFAIK only AE92 GTi ... in Europe.

I have a 1990 AE92 GTi , there was a small port 4A-GE (nowadays it is in my AE86).
I also have a three AE92 GTi's (1988-89) and all those have a big port 4A-GE.

Original small port head gasket P/N is 11115-16070, if needed.

is the head gasket from the small port different from the big port than ?
I think it is.
should I use original one ? It is always difficu´lt to explain in the shop that you need a head gasket for a 4 age small port as mostly they can find 4 age but there are several 4 age´s of course...

Any 4A gasket (maybe any A-gasket) can be used. There is a difference but 4AGE gaskets are equal. Diference is larger water passages etc.

I read somewhere that the 7AFE head gasket is thinner, and good for the 4AGE. I bought one and it is thinner but the water passages are absolutely not at their right place. With some dremel and diamond cutters I made these holes, but by this time I didn't try it. Hope it will work, but doesn't worth the work to do it.

The smallport and bigport 4AGE's have the same headgasket. By part number also the same. 11115-16070 as I remember.

thank you for the info ! i can just order a 4 age head gasket now
