PLEASE HELP!!!!

ok i'm a noob on this site as you can see lol... well i'm looking in to buying a 1985 or 86 corolla... the only problem is...that i have never delt with toyota's i have always been a fan of the 85 & 86 which is why i'm looking into getting one now that i can afford it. So my main question is.....What motors are good for these cars? i don't wanna have to fabricate to much...I'm calling on you guys for help because like i said i'm new to toyotas & don't know anything about there motors?

About AE86 - this car have huge aftermarket support ---> you can do most modifications bolt-on way, no fabrication is required.
Fist thing is to rebuild the car, there is no AE86 manufactured after 1987....
