I'm pretty good at painting stuff, but I always have trouble to get a tough finish from the spraypaint cans. Maybe baking it will help it harden better.
But what I was thinking: a thin layer of foam padding, and then a layer of fabric will look great around those gauges.

I think that foam padding would look great... but not with the rest of the interior of the ae86..

I spend again 2 hours after work drilling the holes and sawing ... and my favo... powersanding (powervijlen in het nederlands )

the radio fram has a verry tight fit!

the holes for the gauches are 50/ 51 mm stil to smal..

going to rework them tomorow afternoon with a Dremel or so..

looking great and I am proud of myself

probarly yes, or I find me an other and keep this one alive

I know an other one, but it is an different collor.

is it that bad to cut in that little piece of plastic ??

Yeah I would keep it the original one and take another one if I want to cut it and paint it to black if its different color. But if you does not care about that than just do it

I was really pissed when I bought my car and saw the console was cutted for double dim.

pretty good in shape.. and i think i will arrange an other dash piece to cut in.. and keep this one origional

total spend 6 hours on the plate..

the finisch is made by
1.) large sand-paper
2.) fine sand paper
3.) scotshbrite

and all rubbed in one way from top down.
after the final step, i air cleand it and painted it with clear coating


looks pretty good to me!!
