no parts for 83 ae86???????
i am currently living in japan and looking at buying this ae86 http://db.datanext.co.jp/4DCGI/WEB_Car_V...060620-002
it is a 1983 model, i really dont know too much about these cars but they all look the same with the exception of the headlights and trunks from 83 to 87. with this in mind, how come all the performance parts i have found online are listed a only fitting 84-87 models? also does anyone know of a motor mount/ tranny mount kit for installing a sr20det into a hachi? i have seen it done many times here in japan. but i havnt seen a kit anywhere. thanks |

no parts for 83 ae86???????
The 1983 is the same as the 1984. There may be some minor
differences in trim, but aftermarket parts for the 84-87 years will fit the 1983 model. Cheers... jondee86 |

In the US the model was sold from 84 till 87, so that's why you can't find parts for the JDM 83 Trueno.
![]() BTW: that car has a 85-87 front (bumper and sidelights) and tail lights 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: ![]() |

no parts for 83 ae86???????
wow thanks for all the info. im going to go look at the car in person tomorrow and if it looks and sounds good in person i will buy it. at this point im debating swapping out the 4age. would that decrease the value significantly? the car im driving right now is a s14 Silvia with a pretty decked out sr20det pushing roughly 285 to the wheels. im just wondering how 150 (im estimating the power with the mods that car has) will compare.

Don't forget those wheels don't have to carry 300kg extra weight.

well that deal fell through. the dealer that owns the car apparently does not sell cars to gaijin.

I think the most desirable is the Black Limited.

no parts for 83 ae86???????
thats pretty sick but, i can only bring back an 84 or older to the states because i leave japan at the end of this year. to bring a jdm car back to the US without hassle, it must be 25 years or older. i have found quite a few built cars such as a full on turbo 4age powered 86 with a role cage but i almost think that would decrease the value of the car. am i right?

Depends... If you sell it to a person who likes polishing, then he/she wouldn't like a modified car. But in most cases I think a modified AE86 would be worth more than a stock one...
