IDS pro search and first street round

Last weekend roadrunner, fallguz and me participated in the first IDS round at Hockenheim.
The whole weekend was great fun and ended with a bad and good surprise.

We arrived at the track Saturday morning. Parked the cars and took the cars from the trailers. After the first briefing and registration it was time for some warm-up laps.
The track was set up on the big parking lot/drivers area and after the first lap I realised the track not flat at all in contrary to what it looked like. There were some rather big bumps in the transitions and in the middle of the first corner. Espacially the scond one which was in the transition from a left to a right. This made it not really easier since weight transfer got upset quite a bit.

On Saturday there was practice and two qualification rounds for the pro class.
The rounds were quite hard and the majority of participants scored rather poor.
The rest of the day was practice.





On Sunday we started again with some training and then the first street class round. Things went quite ok here for all of us and after finising this around 11.30 we decided to go out on the formula one track which was also open for the day. This was also great fun until I could not shift down anymore. I rolled out and could not get any gear in. Clutch was gone.



After this the weekend was finished for me. Gladly the IDS guys took my runs from the morning into account for pro search and the second street runs. Fallguz and Roadrunner continued to go all out on track.

In the evening there was the anouncement who qualified for pro class.
I took 12th place, Fallguz 11th with his S14 and Roadrunner did not participate in the pro search, only street class. There was a total of 25 participants so I was quite happy.

After that we had to take off since the travel was quite long.
But what I heard on monday was really great: I finished 4th in street class with my runs from the morning, scoring 88 out of 100 points. Roadrunner made 8th place which was also very good.

So all in all a good weekend with lots of sideways time.
