Thought I would do a quick how-to window making for those racing/drifting enhousiasts on a budget :wink:

I used 2.3mm thick plastic you can buy at any hardware store.

First take out the glass windows



Then use the glass to draw the right size on the plastic.



Then cut out to size, we used a grinder which worked really good but don't heat up the plastic too much, just do little bits at a time.

Clean up the edges and remove any rust, which the guys at toyota said they fixed for me



To hold in the rear window we welded in 2cm by 2cm stainless plates with a hole in the middle, we put 8 plates in divided over the edge, but I would suggest putting 4 in the corners aswell.




Then we used silicon glue to put in the side windows because it seals good and is water resistant etc., notice I didn't shape the plastic the have the same curve as the the old glass window, but by applying pressure it makes the curves on it's own



You see in the picture above it doesn't look nice with the glue showing, so...



I masked of a rim on the edge of the plastic, make sure it's big enough to cover up the glue.



Then I painted the edge flat black to get the same sort of finish on the stock windows.

Then I put on the stock trim and this is the finished article,...



On the rear window we did the same thing, me applying the glue



We then glued the rear window in and fitted the bolts and nuts, same as with the side windows, the plastic takes on the curve of the stock glass on it's own just by holding it in the right position. We used the bolts and nuts as extra help to keep the window in, but don't make them too tight otherwise the plastic will break.

Then again I painted the edge flat black to get this finish,...



Note, I still need to finish of the edge with some sealant to make sure there will be no water inside and for a beter look.

For those weight freaks out there
Stock rear side window: 3kg
Rear window: 7kg

Plastic side window + plastic rear window: 2kg

Hope this will be off use to someone, I wouldn't suggest taking out rear window by yourself if you don't know what you are doing, U need at least 2 persons and some knowhow to take it out without breaking it.
