Apparently software like Norton Internet Security, Norton Anti Virus, Norton Personal Firewall and other proxy/firewall software empties the referer when obtaining an image.
Unfortunately this referer is needed by our "anti bandwidth stealing"-scheme (hotlinking from another site), so images would be redirected to the image in the first post. I also made an error in the rewrite scheme, so the image displayed did not exist and was redirected to the front page instead.  I fixed this, but some people now might get the same image while they never saw this one before.  Anyway, if you have this problem: report it here and I'll see if I can find a fix for this.
