X-TURBO ae82 5dr, the daily badass

let me introduce you to my upcoming daily driver, the "lil shit" corolla, as i refer to it

story: i have been looking for daily which i could use for work, carry packages, transporting granny, going to trips and other usual uses of a car but i wanted it to be oldschool, to have some style and power above 100hp. i was looking after e7 corollas but didnt find any in reasonable shape neither any of them had usable power (though i was thinking of a 4ag swap) it would took too much time / effort /money to make one for my own taste.
next i was looking for 3rd gen civic EF's but most of them were junk and also low on power and only a few of them looked decent but thoes were overpriced for their fancy new paintjob.
one day, about 2 months ago a friend told me he crashed his road going project car.



we were talking about it for a few days ive seen photos of the damage and tried encourage him for repairs but eventually it turned out that he want to give up on the project for some good reasons but he didnt really know what to do with it. thus came the idea i should take over the project, because we have the power for the repairs and apart from the crashed front, the car was in good shape.

the car itself started life as an ee80 5door dx with 1.3 2E engine as my friends grandfathers car
less then a half year ago my friend bought an ae82 with rusted chassis but good 4a-g in it and with the help of the hungarian corolla community, he transplanetd the engine, transmission, brakes, some interior pieces and random other stuff into the DX chassis.




the head was rebuilt by zdoman and the engine was assembeld by [Walaki]D`Lair

the car was running fine but had many things to do left. then came the crash
2weeks ago i got towed both the car and the donor chassis from budapest to debrecen and started work. pictures talk from here...








this radiator is for carina. its wider by 9cm but fits in the 82 since the mounting points are the same and there is enough room. i had to modify the 82 fan housing








this is how it looks now. i hope it will be ready to go in a few days.
